I am very happy to share that my story “The House Spirit” has been selected for Flame Tree Publishing’s forthcoming anthology Christmas Horror Short Stories.
“The House Spirit” is set in Sweden in 1884. Over Christmas, a married couple from London find themselves in a remote, snowbound house. As the winter night settles around them, it becomes increasingly clear that they may not be entirely alone.
It feels like a wonderful home for the story. I have always liked the way Flame Tree anthologies bring classic and contemporary voices together, and I am proud to be part of this particular mixture of winter, tradition, and unease. The anthology will appear alongside work by classic writers including Charles Dickens, Henry James, Edith Nesbit, Robert Louis Stevenson, H.P. Lovecraft, Mary E. Braddon, and Edith Wharton, as well as new stories by modern authors.
The book will be available from August 2026, with a foreword by Xavier Aldana Reyes. I am very proud to be part of it.
