A Quick Look Back at the Leipzig Book Fair 2026
Leipzig Book Fair 2026

It’s barely over and I’m already looking forward to next year. As always, it was exhausting, but there were also little moments of respite along the way, whether that meant soaking up the sun on the Altavista terrace, attending the lovely Dumont blogger event with Katrin Zipse, or simply enjoying a nice dinner in the evening. I also really enjoyed my visit to Buchheim Verlag and the Stephen Graham Jones signing. I treated myself to The Buffalo Hunter Hunter and The Only Good Indians. I also picked up Madame Lazare by Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin from Kröner Verlag. In the antiquarian section of the fair, I found a few treasures as well, and I was pleased that card payments were possible there this year. I also came away from Manga-Comic-Con with a few cool, nerdy finds. I also paid a visit to Inuit Verlag and picked up the newly published Bestiarium Groenlandicum – The Mythical Creatures of Greenland to learn more about these myths and perhaps find a little inspiration as well.
As always, the time went by far too quickly, and once again I did not manage to do or see nearly as much as I had hoped. I had even packed my iPad and keyboard for writing, but I barely found time to read, let alone write, because I was completely exhausted every evening. As I write these lines, I’m also trying to recover from a cold, which, unfortunately, was another souvenir from the fair. Hopefully I can leave that one behind next year.
